what should my makeup look like?

  • Face makeup to match your skin tone (foundation, concealer, contour optional)

  • Light brown neutral eyeshadow all over eyelid and in crease of eye (or a neutral brown type shade that flatters your skin tone)

  • Highlighter for inside corner of eyes, under eyebrows, bridge of nose and top of cheek bones (please use this very sparingly, we just want a little glow not a super shiny face)

  • Black liquid eyeliner(marker or actual liquid is fine)

  • Scotch tape will help make that cat eye eyeliner much easier if you need a guide, just stick it diagonally from your outside corner of the eye on a soft angle upward. Also helps for eyeshadow

  • Black mascara on top lashes only (use multiple coats for a good dark covering) false eyelashes are optional just nothing too huge and crazy

  • Eyebrow gel or eyebrow makeup is optional but helps with a clean look just brush the clear gel into dancers eyebrow with a spooly brush so all hairs are going the same direction and let dry.

  • Red Lipstick

what should my hair look like?

  • Center part down middle of head

  • Slicked back low pony tail about in line with ears. (In following trends, we are just scooting our ponytails up a tiny bit this season) they should be about 2-3” up from the nape of their neck

  • Match your hair tie to your child’s hair. Or use clear rubber elastics. If your child has very thick hair I recommend doing two pony tails, one with the top of their hair and one with the bottom of their hair and then connecting the two with an elastic so it looks like one pony tail and it will stay nice and tight

  • Use a lot of gel and or hair spray to secure the slicked back portion of their hair.

  • Soft bristled brushed are required for getting the easiest smoothest hair possible. Don’t be afraid to Rebrush it once it’s in the pony tail and re do the pony tail to tighten everything up

  • Hairspray and A Toothbrush at the end will help if your dancer has a lot of fly aways or small baby hairs especially at the nape of their neck

  • Please use Bobby pins that match your hair color if needed

  • Any loose or bumpy pony tails will be asked to be re done before performing

  • Please make sure the actual pony tail (the hair out of the elastic) is neat. Dancers can straighten or curl/wave their pony tail if desired. Natural hair textures are more than welcome please just use whatever product necessary to enhance their texture and make sure the pony tail is looking neat and gorgeous

  • Boys hair should be neat and not in their face at any time during performance.
